HELP! installing MSD digital window switch problems...
HELP! installing MSD digital window switch problems... I have a nitrous outlet kit which i've used for years. i decided to finally buy a window switch for saftey. i bought a MSD digital one. wired it up using this diagram
the kit now does not work. It tells you in the instructions to set the number of cyl on 1 for a LS1 motor and 8 for a v8 with a distributer. so I set mine on 1. i set the rpm on at 30 which i'd asume is 3,000 because it can only go in 2 digits on the read out. maybe i'm wrong? RPM off at 6,000. you can rev the car with the micro switch depressed and the solinoid does not click over the 3,000rpm. i even drove the car and tried to make a pass down the street and it definetly does not come on over 3,000 like it should. when the car is running the digital read out shows some numbers possibly the engine rpm? when I started playin with number of cyl on the box when its on 4cyl it looks like the correct idle speed if that is rpm. the solenoid will click at idle on this setting if you press down the micro switch. so i know the solenoid does work. but if you set it up like they tell you for ls1 nothing works.

Yea I had to program mine for 4cyl. It has worked fine like that. It will read thousands and hundreds.ex 5.5 is 5500rpm.. I even wired up a light to show when the switch is active( between the set points) on and off.
