If its leaking down quickly you have a leak some where. I use a product called "snoop" leak detector. You spray it on each fitting from the bottle forward up to the solinoid including the valve and valve handle shaft, neck of the bottle...even the braided line. Find the leaks and fix them. If you have fittings that leaks and cant be fixed by tightening, there is a soft aluminum "washer" called a SECO seal that is placed in between the fittings to seal it. They can be bought at any place that sell hydraulic and gas hoses. Basically go over everything again. I like to kep my bottle open for extended periods as well so I try to fix all the leaks...even the very small ones. One last thing....check the outlet of the solonoid for leaks too.

Thanks, I'll take your advice right away and alo look into a remote opener that does not replace the ****. I can't see myself pulling that stuff off every time I fill.

After I close my bottle, the pressure goes down slowly to 0psi in a few hours (maybe 5?), but I thought that would be normal. Or should it hold pressure for longer than that?
If I want to find a place that sells hydraulic and gas hoses in the phone book, what section should I look under? Thanks!

Well....a leak free system is not too big a deal to obtain. Prior to my new setup...I could close the bottle and have 1000 psi or so trapped in the line....come back a few days later and psi would be unchanged except for temp of the day. 0 leakdown. It took a little work to get it that way but it was worth it. Right now I do have a leak...I know right where it is, its at the cockpit gauge...Ill tackle that this weekend. I hate a leaky system....its a pet peeve since it wastes so much nitrous.

Sounds great, I hate to waste nitrous too. Where can I find the seals and the leak detector (what's the products real name)? Would Home Depot have this stuff?
