Nitrous to a 427R ROUSH Engine... what is possible?
I have a question about my Mustang which you guys might have the knowledge to answer...
I have a 427R Smallblock Ford in my Mustang, and was wondering how big a Nitrous boost I could throw on it without risking a blowout!
It's a 545HP Engine built on a Dart Block! With a TKO600 Trans (in case some of you also know anything about Fords)
Hope to get a feeling on what is possible!
Thanks
Comp?
what internals?
cam?
Heads?
what gas will you run, that question is too broad for an accurate answer, try and give as much info as possible and someone can help out.
A little more info would go a long way.
Also isn't the 427R moniker fords attempt at dipping into the ol' nostalgia bag for sales? The 2010 427R is a 4.6 Mod motor with a blower.

The crank throw is such that I had to clearance the block and oilpan to allow the crank to swing with no interference. The piston wall side loading had to be high.
I think it could take a 200 shot, maybe a lot more but its not going to tolerate timing and fuel mistakes.
