Default N20 and MSD on LS1

Im kinda new to the lsx game but I have heard from a lot of people that the stock ignition is plenty hot enough to spray without an MSD box. Im an old carb guy and have never thought twice about spraying without an MSD. I wanna be safe to about a 250 shot. I dont plan on spraying anymore than 150-200 for now though. My car has been sprayed before and by the setup I am guessing that they hit it pretty good but it does not have an MSD box in the car. Do I need to get one to be safe or am I good with the stock ignition?

Stock is fine. Just use a colder plug such as the NGK BR7's ...

There should be no problem with your ignition system on nitrous. The what is your motor setup in your car, also what kind of fuel system do you have. just want to make sure that you have enough fuel to support your needs.

I just bought the car and I thinkthat everything else on the car should be good. The motor has a GM perf crank, Manley rods and Diamond pistons. I have not had the chance to tear in to the fuel system but I know that they were spraying 250 the way the car sits. The only think that concerned me was the ignition as I dont know a ton about LSX's.

If the previous owner was hitting 250 then it has to at least have a 255 and hot wire kit. I would just double check to make sure you have the pump in there. Sounds likes you are ready for some spray. at 200+ shots you might look into getting BR8's. whats your compression and heads??

Its supposed to have 12:1 Diamond pistons in it with ported ls1 heads.

The factory ignition is more than adequate and there is no need to run and added MSD ingnition unit on the car.
