Default HSW bottle heater issues

Ive got a HSW bottle heater with the pressure regulator that is not functioning.

I can hear the relay click on and the relay will get slightly warm if I leave it on, but the heating element doesn't get hot. I checked the wiring and everything is connected still.

As far as wiring, how have you made those connections?? Are they soldered, wire nut, or clamped?? Sometime we see the splice type connectors not cut all the way thru the insulation and not make contact

The other thing you could try is connecting the bottle heater directly to a 12v source to see if the heater is working.

Its mainly butt end connectors with the screw cap connectors being what attach to the element.

Ill put a 12 volt source to the element to check it.

Thanks!

Second checking the ground, especially if the heater is good.

I had problems with mine as well. I just took it out. I just watch the pressure gauge.

The way to check if it is the pressure switch is to bypass it. Just disconnect it, and connect a wire across those two connections. that would close the loop on the switch. Alternatively, and I suggest it, instead of a wire, use a fuse. I can take a picture of this if you are not understanding.

Alright so I finally checked all this and it seems to be the relay.

Hooked the element up to a battery and it got hot, checked all the grounds by running a jumper to the negative side of the battery, checked inline fuse, bypassed the pressure switch like juiced recommended and nothing.

Right now it's being powered by the keyed switch circuit that gets its power from the traction control switch. I'm assuming that's not the best way to do it, but I just tried it to see if it would work and it does.

Anything else I should try? Where can I get a new relay? Or how could I test it?

Take the power wire or Keyed 12v wire from relay and the ground wire for relay and touch to power and ground which should make the relay click. If no click then you have a bad relay.
