MSD Window Switch Question

MSD Window Switch Question OK, when the car is below the desired activate RPM (in my case below 3000RPM) and I connect a volt meter to the output (yellow) wire, and the other end of the volt meter (positive) to a 12v positive power source from the car... should it read 0volts or will there be a reading? I guess i'm not understanding how the MSD Window Switch works

it's on the #10 wire which is white on my pcm (the lower pcm that's more towards the front of the car)
