You should pull timing no matter what shot ur running to be safe, check the plugs, and start to add it back in a degree at a time until the heat on the strap indicates that it's good. A forged setup should hold a healthy shot. We really need more info on your setup. Solenoid sizes, type of delivery system (shark nozzle, direct port, plate), fuel system, cam specs, intake, etc.

Well I can not take any timing out on my car because the computer is ran by a chip and to change timing I have to have someone burn me a chip. Thats why I am hoping I can run at least 125 shot without any problems. Stock ported intake. I do not remember specs on cam but the heads are ported all put and a custom can to match the heads. Fuel system I'm not sure but I'll check it out. And I plan on running a plate or maybe a shark nozzle

Do you currently have a "chip" burned for it now?

depending on how you timing is set on you chip will decide how much you can run i use to run a 125 on a stock 96 shortblock it had a hot cam and a hypertec programmer and tr6 plugs never had a problem with detonation i would just start with a small shot and work you way up until you heat mark gets where you want it on the plugs you may not be able to run and you may be able to run a 50 and you may be able to run a 150 only way to know it to try

Agreed. Did u have any timing added to it when they burned the chip? If not, 125 to 150. If u did have timing added, id start small, 50 to 75 and mix a little race gas in it to be extra safe.

that fact that you have NO Clue what your timing is should make this a no brainer question, if you want to risk hurting your motor by spraying it go for it, but you should first find out what kind of timing you are working with before doing so.

^^^^Boy! You stupid

The crazy thing is there are people out there who probably tune like that.

I had a buddy that told me his knock sensor will pick up the knock when he sprays and pull the right amount of timing for him so it won't knock on the spray.

Needless to say he burned up 2 motors like that. Couldn't tell him no different either. Can't fix stupid.

Mallory 685 will allow you to pull timing without messing with the tune. It has a bunch of other neat features as well.
