Default What happen when you pull too much timings?

I'm planning on pulling about 4 to 6 degrees of timing when the car is on the gas (150-shot), using an on-off switch wired to the IAT sensor.

I've heard a few people mentioned that too much timings can also burn your exhaust valves. Can someone please give a detail epxlaination on what happen when you pull too much timings?

Thanks

Too much timing = bad stuff
Too little timing = go slower

I'd rather have too little than too much.

Pulling too much timing I believe can be just as bad as too much advance. It can cause detonation and severe overheating, glowing redhot headers, firehazard, etc.

I could see where unburnt fuel due to too little spark advance could cause glowing headers. I guess this would be the cause of detonation as well?
