Default How long should lean spike last?

Just wondering how long a lean spike should last? Setup is 90mm nx plate pulling off the rail. 100 shot. Wide band is reading off driver side. Thanks

How long is yours? Mine only lasted 1 second at most and always on the first hit. I just switched my line from the fuel solenoid to the plate. It was a 24" and I switch to an 8" so that should help some.

It shouldn't last long at all. If it last a while it most likely is your fuel pump cant support the power you are making.

How long is it lasting? How much are you spraying? What is your fuel pump setup?

Mine is lasting about 1.5 seconds but I only sprayed from 3k to 5k. The spike get better with rpm. Never made a full pull. We have a fp guage on it but on the hit it jumps all around then levels off. Walbro 255 fuel pump only spraying 100 right now. Motor made 424/417 thru 4l80 and 9"

.5 seconds is what we see off the brake. but we can correct it in the tune just doesn't seem to like the extra fuel down there.

It should drip and then instantly recover. You should be covered as far as fuel. If you only did the fuel pump and nothing else then you still might be at the upper end of the 255 pump. If you did a hot wire with the pump then you should be good with fueling.

Thanks for the info and help guys. The car does not have a hotwire but it will this weekend. Hopefully that will fix my problem.

I see a slight blip to 14.2-14.4 for less than .5 a second then it drops to 12.2-12.3 and slowly recovers to 12.6 by the end of a dyno pull.

I will see what it does at the track this weekend.

I have a stand-a-lone with a Walboro 255lph pump and an Aeromotive regulator at 40psi along with a Racetronix 255lph pump in-tank with a hot-wire kit. I also have 42lb billet injectors.

Thats what mine goes to but it seems like its taking longer to recover. Martin how long is your fuel line from the noid to the plate? I also have the NX plate kit.

It's the standard length line that comes with the kit. I would guess at least 18" if not a full 24".

Ah... Mine was originally a nozzle kit that I converted to a 90mm plate so that's why I had the 24".

Another question, would to much bottle pressure cause a lean spike?
