Yeah i think your getting on the convertor to hard. I launch between 1,500-1,800 rpm and i have pulled 1.61 on motor with the way my car is setup in my sig. As far as hitting the rev limiter it sounds like you need to get it tuned. My car also did that because the mph/rpm for the shift wasn't right. Once i got that fixed it works great. Should be alot faster once you tune the trans and launch at a lower rpm.

But do no let large stalls turn you away, I was on the phone with FTI for about an hour discussing the converter for my car. Every car seems to like something different, my suggestion would be to call a few converter companies and see what route they suggest.

full weight car. ac, power steering. only things taken off is front bumper support and sway bar. the gear is a 373 and a yank 3600 that suck's **** the car doesn't stall passed 2500 rpm.
If you are using a .055 nitrous jet with a .032 fuel jet you are probably running rich if you are running stock fuel pressure. You should be around a .028 fuel jet. Are you on the stock fuel pump?

Definitely get the tune for the trans fixed. My camaro is bolt ons with 3.73's and stock converter running a 100 dry shot and i do 7.3@96 on DR's. You are definitely leaving alot on the table.

jblankenship is right ur fuel jet is a little on the rich side... to be honest check with who makes ur kit and see what they recommend as far as what u should start out with... from there make a hit pull then plugs and see how they look adjust fuel jet and timing from there... there are a few threads on reading plugs correctly on here.. check them out if it helps u any.. they will give u a good idea of what u need to look for.. ill be honest u will not get the tune up spot on in 1 day.. atleast i never could it took me a couple trips to the track to were i got it some what good BUT NOT PERFECT.. this isnt something i like to try and make big changes.. make small changes and take ur time
