Buncha companies are making variations of the th400... Griner makes a valve body to allow you to leave in 2nd.. Which gives you a 1.48 gear..
Rossler, Hughes, ATI, etc... are all making 2 speed 400's now with a wide variety of gear sets...
I was talking to Jim Hughes at PRI, they offer gear sets from 1.32-2.10...
And from like 1.37-1.90 for a glide..
Pretty cool stuff.

They work, almost every turbo car in NHRA pro mod has a 2 speed 400... Mostly Rosslers, the Pro Line cars have Rosslers, Chris Rini has tested with the ATI 2 speed 400 and gone in the 3's in the 1/8th...
The key is a REALLY good converter, real low starting line ratio, load the converter hard and make it do its job.. Then it needs to come back in and lock up as quick as the car can handle it..
I've been testing this on a couple of blown alcohol cars, and two big inch nitrous cars.
