But
"Coulda, woulda, shoulda"... We had a lot of problems along the way with WhiteLTone's car, it was no cake walk, it wasn't luck, it was hard work...
I made this post asking what the fastest stock block record was because I have another customer I am building an engine for and it should be a tad bit quicker than Nick's 347.. So I was just interested to see if it was within reach. It will just be a little 383.
Cam just decided to go bigger because of the class he was in. If he wanted to he could have went back together stock cube and went for it. He decided to worry about the class racing and not the record.
I give you credit, no doubt, that ya'll worked hard in getting that car down in the numbers. I'm just waiting to see the 8 sec slip.
Why not use a stock shortblock though like everybody else?

(5 years from being built till it first fired and went to the track..)
So when that broke this year, Nick wanted the record bad.. And since his car is kinda my "Test vehicle", he got a really kick *** short block cheap..
Like Cam, this is really just a class car.. It will run a local 9.50 index class for fun, 1 day races, 20 minutes from the house, 2 grand to win... Can't beat it..
thanks for all the credit.
side note. theres plenty of guys playing the same game and chasing the same record as i was with Forged stock block 346/347's the reason mine has rods and pistons in it is bc it came out of a 99 z with 118,xxx on the clock, why re use old **** and have more of a chance to go out on me.
steve- i think atv has the record. Jons motor should fly
87silverbullet, i hope i can provide you with that slip come March, when we actually get more than 3 passes in this thing!
atv thats hauling ***!

As for the record I'm pretty sure RPM went 5.teens with a factory C5R block. (dont see many of those around)
Good luck with both cars.
Changing to All Pro Cathedrals, All Pro/Wegner intake, Solid roller, 4150 Tb and a single stage plate. Should go 5.40's-5.50's stock ls1 block
I am building a very similar engine for a customer. 4" crank, 3.905, .275/.292@50 770 lift, CNC'd Pro-Filer heads, 1 carb, couple of systems... We'll see what happens!
