Default Exhaust Mods

Ok, car is getting some power mods right now. One mod I've been wanting to do is to get rid of the STOCK mufflers. Too quiet for my taste at the track. Car will not be driven on the street for some time.

I've got 1-7/8" LT in to Kooks 3" X Pipe. Now, where would you cut off the pipes? I have turn downs I bought from Summit. I'm thinking about a foot in front of the rear tires with the turn outs 45" degrees pointed at ground.

Has anyone tried this on a dyno? I almost want to put short extension on close to the headers.

as far back as humanly possible.....
if you can go up over the axle and dump at the rear... even better...

not that you will care so much since it isnt going to be seeing a lot of street time...
but it can lead to a pounding headache after a pretty short time of driving somewhere if you dump it under the car in just the right spot to create a bad resonance.
and most places under the car will make it loud inside

Also, you want to turn the tips outward slightly as well....
straight down and it resonates right back into your car...
outward will help keep it from bouncing straight back into the car

Here is my setup. Kooks 1 7/8 LTs with 3" X-Pipe. They look like they would scrape the ground but my car is lowered and they don't scrape.
