Default Another MAF/Dry shot question

Car is a 99z28 A4 w/100k miles Lid, ported TB, ory, dynomouth, 160stat, asp pulley, 3.42 gears, shift kit, 2200stall, and mail order tune from Speed Inc.I have the nos 5177 kit w/ all the safety stuff(not installed yet) and plan on using a 75hp shot only.I am w/ all the screen vs. screenless stuff. Right now i have a screenless slp 85mm maf on the car. Is this not a good idea to use with the gas due to the lean issues? can it be tuned to work w/ the slp unit? I still have the stock maf but it has been descreened as well. Any help would be great!!! Thanks!

No screen is exactly what u need. I have GMAF.
The thing is to autotap your motor and record your AFR/Timing at WOT as a base line. 75 shot dry is like 63 hp wet. small shot by any standard.
I still have stock tune and i shoot with NO JETS. Around 125-140rwhp. No knock or other issues.
A big help is NGK TR6 gapped at 0.040 and gas here is 98 octane.
Do not run platinum plugs (N2O doesn't like that). TR6 are one step colder plugs.

Everything that I have read on this board dozens of times has said to ditch the SLP maf and go back to stock.

I have always heard no screen will allow more N2O to reach the wires and richen the mixture a little more than with a screen. I have always heard good things about the SLP MAF's and bad about the GMS's. I'd agree with Predator that you're good to go.

So just autotap w/ the slp unit and everything should be good?

Well yes, this will let u know what is your AFR/Timing at WOT so you can monitor in order not to go lean or detonate.
Obviously you are starting small (good thing), so you can increase the shot as you go.
Run TR6 & gap them anywhere between 0.038 to 0.042 (depending on size of shot). These plugs are a step colder than stock and help prevent pre-ignition.
Higher octane fuels are a plus, like 93 or higher, but I would recommend to stay under 100.
Good luck.
