Default Spraying with a PT-4400?

I am going to hookk up my NOS 5177 kit this weekend. I want to know if anyone here runs or has a friend that sprays with this TC and if they have any problems.

My motor is eventually going to be more of an N/A setup since there is no real point in setting up for nitrous unless I'm gonna run a big shot.

My Heads are ARE S2 w/ 226/234-.554/.575-112 cam. I can use LS1 Edit to tune but I here comflicting stories about the TC being too loose and will flash too high, then others say it WILL work, just not as well as say a nitrous TC.

Any thoughts from real experiences?

I ran 10.84@124 on a dry 125 shot with this converter a couple of years ago.

I think with a PY3400 I would have run a 10.6@126 or better. The PY4400 stalled WAAAAAAAAY too high all the way down the track. I would shift at like 6200 and the tach would only pull back to about 5900.

If you shift up at 6600 or higher, that will help, but you will not have as much of a gain on the spray as you would with a smaller stall.

I understand.

I am not really expecting a whole lot on the spray. I wanted this car to be more N/A but I won't be able to hit 10's without spray so I figure if I can get 50rwhp out of a 125shot then I wouldn't complain. If anything I can always have my TC restalled like Terry is thinking about doing and make it a PT4000.

You had the PY4400 or a PT-4400?

I figure it won't be a GOOD one for nitrous but if it is workable and will allow me to get into the 10's if I can run 11.60-11.50 N/A then I would be happy.

I really want it for the top end charge in 3rd gear for freeway games.

I don't think it will work well. Just swap over to a 3800E or something.
