Tuning Nitrous I started a thread about this earlier but deleted it bc it seemed as if I worded it improperly so Im going to try to be more detailed here....
So to start I have a 99 Trans Am I did a LQ4 6.0 swap. Has 317 heads, MS3 Cam, LTs w/ Full Borla Exhaust, LS6 Upper and Lower. Wet 150 shot nitrous with plate kit that goes behind throttle body, purge, window switch, WOT switch, bottle heater, etc... Anyway I am wondering how this is suppose to be tuned.? The computer to my mustang enabled me to have a flip chip that pulled timing and switched from n/a to NOS tune... Is this able to be done with my Trans Am..? Am I able to have the arming switch to the NOS hooked up somehow that way when I arm the NOS it changes from the n/a to the NOS tune that pulls timing, adds fuel etc...?????

you need a nitrous controller/timing controller, such as a timing tuner, timing twister, nos mini, lnc 2000, ect.. there are many options. they all are capable of pulling timing when activated, all of these controllers offer different options built in so you will need to look into what options best suits your needs. just do a search in this forum, there is plenty of info as this question is asked weekly
Coming from a Mustang myself I am now realizing these LS1's area whole different story lol. If you are looking for something just to pull timing on the fly then chech out the LNC-2000. It also has a built in window switch as well. I just bought one yesterday actually

The LNC2000 hands down for pulling timing. You just wire it to your activation switch and whenever you activate your nitrous the timing will be pulled.
Just to make something clear though, it does not act as a window switch. The LNC2000 can act as a 2 step though. You have to add a window switch to get the TPS and RPM activation of the nitrous.

I have a window switch so that wouldnt be a problem long as I can add the one I currently have to the set up.. Thank you very much hopefully this info helps me out w my tuner and we can spray it soon..

You could bring it to us and I can pull timing by grounding a pin on the PCM! This is by far the best method as it can be datalogged and for sure works instead of interrupting the coil signal to pull timing. I've used the LNC box's with success but prefer the PCM method.

i replied to ur first thread telling u the same thing these people are telling u right now. i don't know why u deleted the first one in the first place. just tryna help u out and point u in the right direction. timming tuner timming box was what we suggested..
LNC 2000 hands down. That way you can tune it yourself with full control of the timing and fuel aspect of it. If you let a tuner pull a certain amount of timing and put it on a trigger, you are stuck with that amount of timing pulled unless you go back to him to change it to more or less. With the LNC or any device for that matter you can control how much you are pulling and going to put back in to tune it. LNC can be seen on HPtuners and any tuning software also.

I have HP tuners and use it to pull the timing... this way I don't have to have separate tunes for NA and nitrous.
Coming from a guy that runs 10s on AND off the bottle in a 400+ ci motor..
I don't have to drag a laptop with me either. I keep a pocket screwdriver and I'm good to go.
