I was lucky enough to come across some NX solenoids to replace my tiny dynotune solenoids. I was just curious if using a bigger solenoid would effect horsepower without changing the jetting?
Actually they can affect your hp... I have a wet kit hooked up and my 150 hit is dog slow thanks to the small noids I have. Now if I switch to down to 125 shot, it hits way harder than the 150 hit.
Basically, I dont think the orifice in the n20 noid is big enough to support the 150 shot and I just end up running rich. So yes if you can deliver consistent n20 with spot on afr I dont see why you wouldn't get more rwhp. Then again, my case is a lil different than yours im aassuming.

Gains were similar when he dropped back to a 100 vs. his old dyno charts of the original 100 shot too, although it wasn't a straight comparison as the car had more mods from when the 100 shot was on the old kit.
Hmmm maybe you should call or PM one of the major nitrous companies OP. I'm not doubting what has been mentioned above, but i've been around nitrous cars for many years now (and have several friends running it) and simply have never heard or seen this

The only way the car is gonna make more hp with different solenoids is if the old solenoids had something wrong with them or they couldn't supply the needed amount of nitrous for a certain jet size. Also changing from a -4 line to a -6 line on a 150 shot is not gonna gain you anything like some poster said. A -4 flows more than you think.
Also some solenoids could "flow" better than other of the same orfice, but it wont be a crazy gain of hp

I don't see there being a difference at 150. Above that(200+) yeah. but not where you're at currently.
