Default Any negatives to running BR7EF plugs when....

Not spraying? When just normal every day driving. Is it going to effect anything running these plugs? Any known drawbacks?

They probably aren't going to last as long in general. Why would you run them though if you're not going to spray?

Wondering your reasoning on why they wouldn't last? If there's to much heat in the combustion chamber a colder plug would help wouldn't it?

I drive my car all the time with -8 plugs. Never fouled one. Keep the tune clean and they'll be just fine.

Well in general a non projected copper plug that's also two steps colder than stock is simply not going to last as long. But since we are talking performance here, and the correct plug for the correct application it really doesn't matter. With that said the BR7's are still the right choice OP

For daily driving you will be fine running a BR7EF you may notice needing to replace the plugs a little more frequently BUT luckily they are $2 spark plugs so they are inexpensive to replace.

I even run these plugs in my personal truck and have no problems daily driving.

Ok, so I changed the plugs last weekend to the BR7EF gapped at .035 and have am having issues... The car falls on its face at WOT. I havent put the nitrous system on yet.

Before plug change, I would stomp the pedal and the rpm would shoot up and id be pinned to the seat.

Now. Not to much.

I stomp the gas and it feels more like a moderate increase in rmp.

Before the car would chirp 3rd and sometimes even 4th.

Now it wont even break loose in 2nd.

What happened here?

What was supposed to be a simple plug change and nitrous setup is turning into a real headache. Maybe ill go back to OE plugs and scrap the nitrous idea.

The idle has a random, what feels like a miss. It will only do it every so often at a red light where it feels like it stumbles for just a fraction of a second.

Well this may be a real long shot, but I have heard in some cases a plug may cause certain issues, but will diminish after a while. Are you getting any spark knock or ticking type sounds that you can hear?

Nothing that I have noticed. Along with the random "miss" and what seems like a lack of power, the other thing i noticed oddly enough is that it seems to run SMOOTHER at normal cruising. Feels like im driving a 6 cylinder with how smooth it has become.

Then again, I also did a synthetic oil change at the same time, so maybe im just not use to driving it in "better" condition. Who knows.

Other thing that surprised me.... The car has 93k miles on it, I just bought it about a thousand miles ago, and this was its first tune up... The plugs that where in it, i think where the original plugs. They where FUBAR. Black, one was missing half of the little metal electrode thingy... But the car ran great.

Now, new shiney plugs and it wants to act the fool.

wtf.

Wait, so the car was tuned with the original crappy plugs and it was running fine? Okay i'm going to ask some really stupid questions here cause you just neve know lol...Are you sure they are gapped at .035"? Did you drop any of the plugs, get crap or anything at all on them maybe? Did you tighten the wire onto the boot? Did you over or under tighten the plugs themselves? Can't think of any other stupid questions at the moment lol

The car was tuned when the longtubes where installed 2 weeks ago, with the crappy plugs. It was running GREAT. I gapped the plugs at .035 and put them right back into the boxes. Next day installed them. Didnt drop any, or anything like that.
