NX 100 shot Questions
I'm having a NX 100 shot dry kit installed very soon. I don't have specifics on the kit unfortunately. It was used on my friend's C5. I have been lurking in the Nitrous Oxide Performance forum for a while now but knowledge is basic to say the least. I have a few questions for all of you N20 gurus:
1. What do you think my ET will be with this kit?
2. What kind of dyno #'s will I make(approx.)?
See my sig. for mods/details. Thanks for the help.
Dan
BTW, I vow never to call it NAWWWZZZ

My first run on my completely stock 2001 M6 Firebird on Goodyear Eagle Street tires with 100HP Wet system was 12.87 at 112mph. It took a full second of my best NA times. Don't have any chassis dynos.
I just bought a 02 Z-28, but anyway I had a 95 Z-28 with a 150 shot. Ran 13.7 at 101 N/A. On the bottle it ran 12.01 at 118 to 119 mph. It was an automatic, on factory tires. You should get a second or close to it, plus 10 or more mph.

I sure hop my tranny can handle that. Needless to say I won't be hitting the button until the rpm's are above 3,000.
Here's another question:
Am I going to have a problem with traction since I don't have drag radials? I'd like to spray out of the hole once I hook. Do you think my GS-C's will hold?

Well , all i can say is what i found with a 100 shot dry. My fastest n/a run stock with free mods and nothing else was 13.24 @104 then added drag radials and 100 shot NOS kit,and ran 12.24@113 with a 1.85 60ft. I dyno'd n/a 289/297,but no N20 dyno yet. Now that is through totally stock exhaust and everything. You could run low 12's and possibly veru high "11's" with drag radials on a dead hooking track. Good luck.

I'm going to be very leary the first run that's for sure. I'm short on $$$ right now. I might scrape some together and get some Nittos. ET Streets would be a better choice, but I'll need tires I can drive to and from the track with (safely).

This post is pretty much dead, but there's no need to start a new one. I'd like to add that I just found out that I'm getting a 100 shot NX wet kit, not a dry kit.
Does anyone know where I can get some install instructions. I'm getting the kit for free so my buddy said I'm on my own with the install. He won't be around to help.

I was hoping that someone created a nice webpage with detailed instructions and pictures. I need all the specifics I can get. Thanks for the advice. I probably will call up NX.
Camaro_ls1, install is really straight forward. If you need help you can email me. Just installed my own system after months of examining others, pics wont be posted for a week or so, but it is sweet setup. A few tips off the block,
1) mount your bottle first, not necessarily tightened down, but at least get the exact spot. I found a 1"x8" piece of wood (pine is light)is really nice. wide enough to mount the brackets and if you cut it to fit tight in the spare tire area, then you got room to store sh*t under the bottle(me, tools in a soft bag.)
2) run the N2O feedline from the bottle to the engine, not reverse. the bottle becomes the constant and you'll get pissed when it doesnt come ut right and have to redo the line.
(I ran mine from the bottle along the pass. wheelwell going under the back pass. seat. Pie cut the grommet under seat and under the car tieing down along the way up hugging the pass. front inner fender keeping distance from cats/manifolds and over to the solenoid.)
3) the solenoid power wire, run it from the dash or where ever you're going to mount your switch down to the drivers left foot area you'll see a wire junction/ bulkhead going thru the firewall. loosen the 10mm bolt from under the brake booster and run wire into engine bay from there. tighten bolt back down.
4) mount the solenoids where you like, I mounted mine with the bracket off from the ABS module. allows you to run short wires for power, ground and all.
5) loosen fuel cap then remove shrader valve, dry and coat with liquid teflon/silicone? came with the kit. attach fuel line, hook up solenoids and relays. use the sealant on all connections except for the line at the bottle, and the lines going into the shark nozzle. if you seal these, you'll have a bitch getting the bottle out for refill or lines loose for rejetting. before hooking up the N2O line to solenoid, blow it out by having some one open bottle momentarily and hold the line away from danger, this gets out all debris.
6) the WOT switch is the biatch. I think theres a picture of one hooked up in this section under Show me your NX install pics. either way, once mounted and wired up you can check the solenoids.
do the following; double check all fittings, bottle valve CLOSED inspect fittings for leaks-arm the system, hit the WOT switch and look and listen. no leaks, hook up N2O and check again with bottle open, car obviously off. air out intake from N20, start and test it out.
Cant remember anything else right now, but Q, e mail me or post up. I'll check back before the races tonight and such. Good Luck.
Charlie.

Thanks for the detailed instructions. I'll use those to help with the install. Hopeuflly I can find some pics to help me along to. I'll just keep researching it. The install got bumped back a few days anyway. I'm waiting on a nozzle to be shipped.
Thanks again for your help and I may take you up on your offer. I'll shoot you an email if I run into any major snags.
