Default Got a plug...help lol

Setup is Nitrous Outlet Plate kit jetted 100. On 93 octane. Tune has 27 degrees. I have a LNC-2000 on car pulling 4 degrees. BR7EF plugs gapped .032"

Last time I ran the car was in December and car ran good. 6.90's

I sold the car in March. Ended up buying the car back. Last owner is a friend and said he didn't ever spray the car.

Went to the track last night and car ran terrible on motor so I came home to check it out.

Tip is completely melted away on #1 cylinder and plug is really black and looks oily too.

I would've thought that tuneup would've been safe as I'm hitting the TA with the exact same thing and no issues.

Timing and probably too rich.. Are you sure that your friend didn't spray the car without any timing pulled?

Not positive.... but I just checked and everything is how I left the lnc and progressive.

But who knows.

What about oil consumption? I'm sure the plug look liked that because of it not firing properly.

Car does use oil like most h/c cars

Besides the regular oil consumption from the pcv setup, it could be worn valve seals and/or hurt a ring in that cylinder. I would do a compression/leakdown test.

Would the car run a little rich with the BR7 if the car was tuned for a BR6?

It was tuned na with a 6 plug but when I started spraying I put 7's in it

My car was tuned with TR55s in it. When I switched to BR7s the air fuel didn't change.

That left plug is burning oil. Quite a bit I would say. That will make it detonate. Might be what got the strap. I would put a fresh set of plugs in it and drive it for a few weeks. Then check the plugs before spraying it again. If there is burned oil on the plug, I wouldn't spray it again until the problem is fixed.

The car does use oil. It doesn't have a catch can on it, but I plan on getting one. If that cylinder continues to get oily, where should I look?

A catch can wont help the burning oil. If it continues, I would change valve seals, and be sure to use silicone on the rocker bolts that break in to the intake runner. That could also be where the oil is coming from.

I think you may have a few things going on. The bad thing is once a plug or a cylinder is hurt any information you could have received from reading plugs is pretty much out the window.

I would do a leak down/compression test. As nasty as that plug looks I think you got some ring issues.

I would go back over the tune up and re check everything.

Thanks for the response Dave. I'm "assuming" this happened back in December and the car has just been driven around since then. I did a compression test and that cyl has 205-210 like the rest. I will try to do a leak down and see what I get.
I will lay off the spray till I figure it out.

I wonder if it could've been the fact when I set it up was last summer and da was 3500 and when I ran in December it was 300. Car ran a lot faster in winter but I didn't think to pull more timing. My tuner said I may not have to pull any for a 100, oh well.
I went over everything and replaced plugs and wires as wire on that cyl looked corroded. Took it to track and made some motor hits and all normal and plugs looked fine.

Tried a nitrous hit but pulling 6 degrees ( I had BR6's gapped .032") and it ran great. Plugs looked good, but like it needed more timing. Made another hit pulling 5 and mph went up, plus still looked good so I called it a day.
