I am a nitrous noob and I'm working on using a Nitrous Express kit from my uncles dragster on my car. He has 2 kits (1 is missing solenoids) so I should be able to piece together a nice kit, but they used carb plates.

I have been looking for plates but they are a lot more expensive than I expected.

Would a nozzle be fine for a 100 shot? My concern was my intake tract which has a 90* 4" elbow going from the tb to the maf with a filter directly on it. Would a nozzle in the middle of the 90* bend be ok or is there going to be too much air turbulence for it to work?

A 100 shot with a nozzle will be fine. Been there done that.

If you can put the nozzle right in the bend but face it towards the throttle body you should be ok.

I have guys spraying over 300 through our plates but to be honest I would not suggest spraying over 250 through a plate to the average tuner. There is a lot of work reading plugs and understanding how to watch cylinder to cylinder distribution through plug reading when using a plate or nozzle.

Local guy same car..

Fast 92mm we started seeing a cylinder to cylinder change at 300hp.

Changed to a fast 102mm and started seeing the change at 250hp.

So this tells you just how every combo could respond different.

Don't get me wrong, On larger hp levels understanding how to read plugs is important to know in order to know exactly where your tune up is. But with a direct port at higher hp levels of 300 you know that you have equal amounts of cylinder to cylinder delivery.

Add this nozzle to the system you have.

Place the nozzle before the throttle body. If you contact one of our tech staff and send them a picture of what all you have they can help you piece together the remainder items to put your system together to achieve the power levels you are looking for. Shoot Brandon and email.. brandon@nitrousoutlet.com
