Default Nitrous kicks in and out w/ nothing changed from old setup...

I've had the NOS 5177 installed exactly the way the instructions read for about 4 months. I've been through about 10 bottles since then. It used to run perfectly. But lately it just hasn't performed very well. It will kick in and out through the whole RPM range. It doesn't even matter what bottle pressure it's at. It just will not spray constant anymore. Why could this be? Especially when it did just fine before? I have a window switch (3000-5800), FPSS (came w/ kit), WOT switch (came w/ kit). Could it be the FPSS is not adjusted correctly anymore? Please anything you can think of. TIA.

Maybe your fuel filter needs changing.

i have had this problem before and it was the FPSS, i wouldn't just bypass it though, you need to put a fuel presure gauge on there and see if you presure is droping, if it is holing steady then you can bypass it and see if that was the switch, i bet your fuel presure is actualy droping.

if it was on the edge before for some reason the cold weather might push it over, your engine is going to need more fuel to keep up with the denser air, or fuel filer sounds like a good bet.

I had this same problem and it was the FPSS. You can bypass it just to check it for a quick 3 second or whatever blast .

Well, I finally got up the nerve to bypass the FPSS. The FPSS must have been bad because now I have another problem. I don't have any traction in 1st or 2nd gear. Thanks for the help!

May sound wierd, my buddy had been running the kit on his car for over a year. All of the sudden it got crappy, spray would kick off and on.

The Nitrous solenoid ended up being trash and shorted out on inside.

dude!! your funny, FPSS... fuel presure safety switch, it is designed to shut off the nitrous if the fuel presure falls, if the fuel presure falls and you go lean it only takes a second to go

if your not going to use the fpss then you should use a fuel presure gauge or maybe you could just watch your 02's, not sure if that would be good enuff though.

you have determined that the fpss is turing off the nitrous, now you need to find out why.

Those FPSS that come with those kits are ****. They aren't calibrated worth a crap. Mine did the same thing. There is no easy way to calibrate them correctly unless you have acess to someone that calibrates guages precisely. You WILL find it far from what they say it is on. I believe the highest setting, which they are shipped set on, is 50psi.
