Default Nitrous guys...... do i make this bet

i have a buddy that wants to bet me that i WONT trap better than 126.99999
with my mods below.......lets just say: that i baby it out the whole (spent tooo much money on the car recently, and i DONT wanna have to buy a BUILT T-56 RIGHT NOW)AND "ONLY" GET A 2.0 60ft........ is a 127 trap still possible? and if so/if not.... what "jets" WILL INSURE IT.......

btw... et is NOT important in this, cause my race weight is 3900 ( LOTS OF STEREOand THAT IS NOT NEGOTIABLE)

THX IN ADVANCE

and please.... i need lots of opinions on this!

How much horsepower are you looking at? What does it weigh?

Well...according to the HP/mph calculator I always use you would require just over 540 rwhp to run 127.0 mph in the 1/4 mile with a 3900 lb race weight.

Ummmm, not likely at that weight. You are looking at closer to 625 at the tire with 3900 pounds to get there. That's pretty close to a 10.7 pass firing out of the hole. I'm sure you could dog it out of the hole and pick up 2 mph, but 127 is a serious MPH. Makes it a little more difficult to do it on a 2.0 60 ft as well. You would still have to make just as much HP to get that MPH out of it.

Have you ever ran it before on motor or on spray, what was the setup and how did it do?

on cam and lt's only i trapped 120 with a 100 dry shot, i just figured if i went from 100 dry to 150 wet...... and add heads (bigger valves and all) i figured i could pick up an additional 7 mph (not to mention going from 10:1 to 10.8:1 comp.)

The extra 50 might help. So your prior ET's were based on stock heads or were those ported too? Never ran these heads yet?

I'm guessing that you may be pretty close, but I'm still a bit skeptical at this point.

With the 150 pills you should be damn close-
I assume that 3900 lbs is with you in the car

Then you may be very very close. That's awesome for a 3900 pound car.

Dame, 127mph is going to be really close with your setup. I think your car will do it, but the run would have to be close to perfect. If you take the bet make sure you attempt it on a test & tune. The track won't be prepped well enough on Wednesday's or the upcoming Grudge night. If you want to know for certain, there's a few cars around us that trap around 127mph and they will all go from a roll on the freeway.

Good luck!

Don
