Default MSD Window Switch or Mallory Window Switch

Hey guys,
looking to get one of the Window Switches.
Seems like everyone is useing this brand.
My questions are:
1. What is bad about this Window Switch?
2. What needs to be done/re-calibrated after i got in my mail before i install it?
3. I have 3.43 and vig 3200. Stock shift points. Rev limiter is 6500. What window range i should be using to be Safe?
4. Am i forgeting anything to ask <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ?
Thank a bunch <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

1. You have to buy modules for what ever rpm you want to set the window switch at($20 a set).

2. You do NOT have to send the unit back to MSD to be re-calibrated. You just have to set it to 4 cylinder mode(yep are cpu puts out the same signal as a 4 banger). You can do this simply by cutting the blue and red loops(sets it to 4cyl mode).

3. I would set the lower rpm to 3000rpm's(no lower) and the higher one is up to you(mines at 5800, but I have an m6). I suggest you watch to see what rpm your car shifts at and set it a rew 100 rpm below that. But remember that the tachs in our cars lag when you are racing. If you have access to Auto Tap I would recommend that you use that to see where your trans is actually shifting.

Oh and also that the MSD unit is designed to be used at low voltage. You use the window switch to supply the ground for your circuit(highly recommended). And to wire it up AFTER the relay if you are using it to supply the + power to your nitrous system.

If you do decide to go with the MSD (like I did) check out the link within the thread below titled: RPM modules. The link shows you how to make it totally adjustable, without having to buy any modules with, like, $5 in parts from Radioshack. Really cool! great directions with part #'s

I have a Mallory and it works great. The thing I like about the Mallory over the MSD is that the Mallory does not require pills to set the rpm range.

I would set your window rpm range to 3000rpms and 6200rpms.

Oh yeah, that's not the one. It should be $70-$80. Not sure what that one is.

I couldn't find it on summit or jegs, but I did find a pic and description of it.

It's part no 626.

I have heard that the mallory one is discontinued. You can still find them but you have to look hard.
