i am having problems with my car breaking up on the nitrous..the only shot i can use without detonation is a 75hp.. with a bigger than recomended fuel jet..i tried the 100 with the bigger fuel jet and the car still detonated..i pulled a couple of plugs and they were showing severely lean..but this problem has just occured within the past few days..any suggestions would be helpful..i am using a nx wet kit with ngk tr6 plugs gapped at 36 thousandths..

also it is breaking up on the motor at the top of third gear around 5200..the car just "falls on its face when it hits that rpm"..in other words im clueless and dont know where to even start so i would appreciate the help

Year, make and miles on the car? It could be the fuel pump is on its way out and cant support the fuel needed. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed. It could be cloggged causing it to starve for fuel. When was the last time the injectors cleaned (if you have alot of miles). It could be that the injectors arent keeping up.

Either way, its a fuel issue. Can you check the fuel pressure? That will narrow it down pretty good.

 

Could be a funky fuel solenoid, had the same problem with my TNT solenoid...

 

it is a 99 model with 48000 miles on it...i changed the fuel filter yesterday..i really dont know how to check the fuel pressure..i heard you need some kind of special fitting or something. but anyway i checked the fuel solenoid yesterday also and it was spraying fuel just fine..

Autozone will loan you a fuel presure guage for free. All you have to do is screw it on to the fuel rail.

 

Autozone, hell they'll hook it up and check the pressure while you rev the engine. It's easy and definately something with the fuel, not the fuel solenoid (he stated it does it NA also). Know anyone with Autotap? If so, have them log your car NA and spraying. Good-Luck.

yes it is doing it na also...that is why i am leaning toward maybe a bad injector..or the fuel pump..i am going to auto tap the car tomorrow so ill post and let you guys know what i found out..thank so much for the help..
