Default Advice on Heads for Nitrous

Well I already have the Thunder 230/224 cam and i'm looking to purchase a set of Stage 2 heads. Most likely from TEA.

The planned nitrous kit will be the TNT F1 or the F2 maybe. I'm looking to run around a 100 or 125 shot.

But one thing i'm cluless on is the compression? Whats a good compression to run on nitrous that will be decently safe? Since I can order the heads with whatever size chambers I want.

By the way finalt specs on cam : 230/224 .576/.561 109.9 LSA

Thank you very much for any input! I know you are the guys to ask. One of the best tech sites around easily.

TEA does excellent heads as do most of our sponsors. ARE probably has the most experiance with heads devoted for nitrous. As far as compression??? Depends. Will you want max power on motor as well??? In that case go for a healthy compression ratio like 10.5 or 11 to 1. You will still be able to spray a healthy shot ontop of that. If you are making an all out nitrous race car devoted to running at the track on 300+ shot of nitrous everytime I would suggest lower compression and some serious research on nitrous setup.

I say get a set of 5.3 heads. They will give you a compression of 10.8:1 and the exhaust ports flow VERY well to help get the gases out of the cylinder. Also, Id find a different cam. The 110 LSA is going to hurt. Get a 112 or better a 114. The reverse split is going to hrut also. You are going to be taking in more than you can get out. Get a single pattern or regular split (works best) cam

Yes I'm only looking to brush the 10's on juice with a little more drivetrain work. Not planning on going that much farther until I can more afford it lol. Yes I think I will be going with the 5.3 heads by TEA and good advice on the cam. I'm going to make a custom grind cam based on how well the heads flow and optimized for the juice.

A good set of S2 heads will make your car really run good on spray. You need good flow on your set-up! I got 135RWHP on 100 shot with my set-up! Love it Check my Sig!
