I guess these guys are closer to average than I thought. Does anyone have an account with a supplier? I'm wondering if it would be worth it to get a mother bottle. If people are making a profit at $3.50/lb then the bulk price must be pretty low compared to the $5 I'd be paying.

I pay $3/lb. for a 64lb bottle. From my welding supplier....

I also use over 15 bottles of argon, an 20 bottles of nitrogen a week.... So it is in their best interest to cut me a deal on the nitrous

I fill my own. My tank rent for a mother bottle is $60 per year. The gas costs me $1.87 per lb here in GA. I charge $3.50 if I fill for someone else.

I've always siphoned until recently and got a fill station, and haven't used the station but once when a friend needed one filled right then. I always freeze them for 3-4 hours and siphoning works great.

It was $5/lb until the local pep boys opened a speed shop. Now it's $2.99/lb

only way to do it.

We'd fill our own but we only pay 1.89 a lb. But we fill 18-20 at a time.
