Spark Plug Question
When using nitrous, say a 300 shot. What do you guys think the best spark plugs are? This is using the Holley NOSzle nitrous kit, where it lifts the injectors up a little bit, and sprays nitrous/fuel directly into the cylinder. So what kind of plugs should I be using. Thanks for the help guys, sorry about the newb question, I just want to make sure I have a cold enough plug.

Thanks a lot ls1290

Josh, I believe the recommended rate for plugs is one step per 100hp increase. Never gap more than .05 from factory for that plug, if you need that much switch plugs. Cant tell you the plug number, but I wouldnt run an NGK TR-55 on a 300 shot, hell not over 100. Stock plugs will work for N2O, but as you suggest how well is the undying "?", and I personally dont want to be a guinea pig. Good-luck. I assume you already got the fuel pump replaced and all that.
When going colder than TR-6 NGK goes to a totally different PN series I believe. I think the next colder plug is BP7EFS PN 3526. These are the plugs I am going to use when I spray the big shot again.
Fuel is not a concern here, I was just wondering what spark plugs I should be running. Cause I dont wish to be a guinea pig either, so that is why I was asking what plugs to use. Thanks for all the info.

CAT3, I just want to make you aware stock plugs are good until a 100 shot if that.. the problem is with the factory platinum plugs the platinum tabs on the ground electrode go away from cyl pressure after about a bottle or so which also increaases the gap by .010 at least.. it is always better to run an aftermarket plug with a tighter gap when spraying.. and anything over a 100 shot is a few steps colder than factory.. the more spray the colder the plug. the coldest i have ever seen is the Champion RC59's you have to special order them.. i would look at those for the 300 shot. just my 02..

Wes, yeah I was aware of the platinum buttons on factory plugs and such. Just wanted to make a point that they will work, but not recommended. I personally run TR6's now, but will be swapping in my Denso IT22's for the 200 shot once the NXL is here. Also, thats why I mentioned not to gap a TR6 to far out to make up for a colder plug, the gaps from the manufacture are set(or damn close) and once opened to far make the life span and quality of spark nul. Thanks for looking out. Charlie.
