hi all i'm new to the board. i have just purchased a 00 black SS A4. was gonna buy my friends 97 cobra but couldn't pass this deal up. ok well my first question is how much can the stock motor hold up. better question is will a 100 shot be too much? i just ordered the borla exhaust(sp?). my second question is with just the exaust, N2O, and say et streets or nittos. what should i expect in the quarter. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

 

There is a local guy that has a 00 Z28 A4 with skinnies, ET Drags, 3.73 gears, cutout and is spraying a NX 100/125 shot out of the hole and runs 11.3-11.5 at 119+ on the stock converter. He 60fts are in the low 1.5x range. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Slick67, good thing you didnt buy that Blue Oval, cuz youd be getting passed up a lot by the SS. Neway, congrats and all to you. Yeah, your cr shouldnt have a problem running a 100shot. My car and mods are in sig and have run numerous bottles, 100shot at a time with no problem. If the track hooks and running ET streets, should pull low 12's high 11's. Our track here sucks for short times, but at least we get to race EVERY weekend, and my car runs 12.1x's on spray. My buddies 35th SS has run 11.9x on a 75 shot, but he has a few more mods-mainly headers and he runs ET streets vs. my Nittos. God-luck and have fun. Charlie.

 

thanks for all the info. i'm still trying to get used to the car. keep in mind my daily driver is an 02 civic =) (great gas milage...and that's it) so i'm taking it easy with the ls1. and damn this thing is fast. i just raced my bud's 97 cobra with flowmaster cat back, k&n, 3.73's and et streets and i had him by 2 and half cars by the top of second <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> . needless to say he quit talking **** about ls1's. but suprisingly he took it like a man and just said "**** that thing is fast" is was fun.
