Default Nitrous 440

I dynoed my car today to get a new baseline with then current converter, except I'm on slicks right now so ill try and re dyno with slick after the head, cam, intake swap, plate swap. As long as the track is open tomorrow ill also run the car to run in similar weather. We couldn't get a good rpm read so horsepower is all we got. Power fell on its face above 7000 rpm but the car ran quicker as I reved it over 7100, 7200, 7300.

I'm swapping the tfs 235 for 245 with the nitrous exhaust port, Super Vic 4150 to Mast 4500, 251/265 .636/.636 114+3 to 260/270 .630/.605 109. What do you guys think of the new camshaft?

What's the reasoning for the lower exhaust lift on the new cam? Who spec'd the cam?

James @ Bullet Cams suggested a 265/277 .650/.650 114 and friend of mine likes 269/281 .675/.675 113. Chris Straub that I got the 260/270 from really stands by that camshaft. If there is any chance this cam is optimal I will run it, if another is defiantly better ill order it Monday. I'm also switching to morel lifters and 3/8 .120 pushrods.

Chris is knowledgeable on cams and has real world experience to back it up. I'd say try it.

We have found that is impossible to find the best cam for Nitrous if it is not Dynoed with the Nitrous on. It’s OK to test with a light shot like 150 but when you get to the 350 stages to fine the best cam you must test with the Nitrous on. I think the first cam will work better than the second.

The lower lift on the exhaust side is probably because it has more aggressive ramp rates and the lower lift will help the spring control the valve better.

Which one? My existing cam in the motor 251/265 .636/.636 114+3
My new one 260/270 .630/.605 109
Or the one I'm thinking about going to
265/277 .650/.650 114

I would think the one in your car 251/265/114+3 would be much better than the 260/270/109 the other 265/277-114 is much bigger it may be better from 5500 up but I would need more information. That is with the 350 nitrous. These are still HYD cams?

Yes staying hydro roller with morel link bar lifters, PAC springs I dont know the exact springs but I remember just over 200lbs closed, 3/8 .120 pushrods.

Lsx 440 4.185x4.00
12:3 comp
400-500 shot
Mast 4500 intake
Accufab 4500
Powerglide

Right now on spray thr converter goes to 6400 rpms. Na performance doesn't matter.

With that CI going to the big runner heads will help. The 265/277-114 would be better but you still could use a little more EX 265/282-116+5 I think would work better. I don't know how high to turn this but if it in the 7500 range and it stalling at 6400 you may need to tighten it up you may be wasting TQ below 6400.

That cam/stall combo is a little weird. You should have that converter stall a lot closer to peak tq.

I took it out one last time before the top end change. I drove it 45 miles to a street car shootout and with the new 3.70 gear had to hit it with alot more nitrous out of the gate. I had to set the progressive at 80% to get it to 60' like its did on 55% with the 3.89. Except with the 3.89 it would be on the bumper this go round it barely lifted a tire. 60' was 1.26. I took 160lbs out of the car an ran a 5.52. I have another 3.89 on the way. It was nice driving to the track with the 3.70 but I'm after et. Also the gear loosened the already loose converter. I only dropped 400 rpm on the shift.
