Default extending wires on a lnc2000

getting ready to make a glovebox mount for my lnc2000 and window switch to move them in the car and easily accessible. my question is, will there be any issues with lnc from extending the wires harness to the coils? i would think as long as i use heavy enough wire it will be fine?

and my next question is does anyone have some pics of glovebox mounted lnc2000's and window switch? thanks.

I really wanted to mount mine in the glovebox, but it was too much of a hassel IMO

Was the motor out of car and the dash tore apart when you did that? Seems like that would be difficult to do ( I'm assuming you went straight out the back with the harness) with the car intact.

another option is to just buy a pair of coil pack connectors (got mine from efi connection) and just make extension harnesses. I just made some for a coil relocation. Same concept

Default Lengthening the LNC wires

Lengthening the wires isn't a concern about voltage drop. It is about increasing the chances of electrical noise getting into the system. The longer the wire the bigger the effective antennae. And every extra connection or joint is added risk of signal loss.

Not saying it won't work, just recognize what the potential risks are. Using the extension harnesses sounds like a good way to do it - easiest to go back if it causes problems.

BTW - bigger gauge wires isn't always better. For computer level signals (ie not high current where you are worried about voltage drop) going to bigger gauge wire actually can hurt things (increase the effective capacitance of the wire).
