Default Prepping a junk yard LQ4 for nitrous

I recently picked up an LQ4 with probably 130,000+ miles on it. My plan is to throw on a set of 243's, LS6 intake and custom grind cam. I will be putting on a plate kit and spraying about 200hp on the stock bottom end through a TH400. The car is a 3rd gen Camaro and will have a race weight of about 3600lbs.

What do you guys think I should do to the bottom end for some cheap insurance? Maybe rod bolts? Leave it alone and let it ride?

If you have gen 3 rods I would do bolts. Gen4 leave them alone.

Thanks guys. I was figuring in a decent timing set with the cam. I guess arp rod and heads bolts will be going on too.

I've used the cheaper pro comp studs on mine. Been spraying the hell out of it without a hiccup. Even took heads off and reused torqued them back down. It's up to u tho. But for a junkyard build I'd run them.

^^^^this. 69 bucks for head studs beats $2xx.00 any day.

I was planning on just head bolts instead of studs. I think they are about $120 or so.

I've seen my fair share of back fires on LS6's and they all seem to blow out the rear. Hopefully I never see a back fire, lol. Especially with a fiberglass cowl.
