Wet or Dry on a 1998 SS
I have a bone stock 1998 Camaro SS with an m6. I just paid it off and its time to have some fun with it seeing as it is no longer a daily driver. I am wondering wether to go with a wet or dry kit. I have a set of Hooker Long Tubes on the way and a QuickTime remote Dump Valve. I want to run around a 125 shot, What do you guys think??
Either one will work fine. I prefer dry kits personally. I run a 150 shot on my bolt-on 98. Just make sure you atap or dyno with a wideband to get eveything set up right. Good luck!

Is a bottle heater important, yes. Is it necessary, no. With a dry kit you won't hurt anything with a cold bottle but you won't make nearly as much power. With a wet kit however it should be tuned at a specific bottle pressure and ran at that bottle pressure all the time, so it is almost a must.

hey B18B1LS1, what do you have done to your 98? A guy just traded in a 98 SS @ the dealership here, and im wanting to pick it up. Just wondering what you've got done to yours...
My "wish list" would be like most everyone else...heads, cam, LS6 intake, long tubes, clutch, new 12 bolt, exhaust, nitrous. Just wondering what you've got done to yours...
btw, ive been in and around Lawrenceville/Loganvile Ga...my cousin lives out there. Maybe if i get the car, you can show me some cruise spots

Mainly basic bolt-ons.
Moser 12 bolt with 4:30 gear, Hooker LT's w/ off road y pipe, K&N FIPK, cut-out, Random Tech exhaust, Yank TP4400 converter, Hypertech, NOS 5177 kit (150 rwhp), MAFT, Pro Stars front and back, BMR SFC's, BMR LCA's w/ Spohn brackets, Hals front and back
That's about it.

I have been reading that the 98LS1's have bigger injectors and a better fuel pump that the 99-02's, is this true, if so, will they allow me to have a larger shot on a dry kit without having to upgrade the fuel system.
With a wet kit do you run the risk of detonating your intake, it is not made to have gas in it, that seems to scare me away from a wet kit,, should it.

Dunno about whether they've got bigger/better injectors/fuel pump, than the latter LS1s, but if you're wanting to run a high shot, like a 100+ (which a 100 isnt really that big, but still enough to maybe cause a problem) it would probably be a better idea to run a larger pump.
And you can run the risk of detonation, but running lean is also a concern. Just make sure to set your timing right (im wanting to say retard your timing, but my mind is shot right now... ), and make sure you've got enough fuel, and you should be alright

and damn B18B1LS1, how is the driving w/ the 4.30s? The car im lookin @ is an M6, and i probably wouldnt go more than 3.73s. Sounds like you've got a good setup tho.
What im thinkin of is TNT 150 shot, SPEC clutch, 12 bolt w/ 3.73s, Hooker LTs, Flowmaster exhaust, LS6 intake, ported LS6 heads...ya know, just the normal LS1 stuff it seems like

here are the injector sizes for the given years
98 ~28.6 lb ^470 RWHP go bigger size
99 ~26.4 lb ^421 RWHP go bigger size
00 ~26.4 lb ^421 RWHP go bigger size
01 ~28.8 lb
02 ~28.8 lb LS6 also
At 58 psi

4:30 isn't bad at all. But they are too much on the gas, I'm having to shift in OD to finish the 1/4. They are about perfect on the motor though.
I think I'm going to swap for a 3.90 soon.
By the way I'm still running my stock fuel system on my 150 shot. I don't recommend it but it is working for me. I'm right at 470-480 rwhp and 600 rwtq.
