New dyno #s Yay me :)
I have learned an immense amount of nitrous knowledge on this board. Well..today I put it to use. All bases covered.
Dual stage dry setup
100 octane unleaded
Ramchargers timing tuner
FMS 42 lb injectors
MAF translator
Racetronix 255 lph intank with relay
423 rwhp on motor
on the hose:
665.3 rwhp
674.2 rwtq
tha was on a 300 shot( NOS rating), but I believe I ran out of noid flow on the first stage at about 130 hp jets. I only picked up about 15-20 hp when going from a 250 shot to 300. If I want over 700 rwhp Ill have to put a cheater noid on the first stage as well. Ended up pulling 9 deg of timing..some down low...some as the second stage kicked in. AF ratio was 10.5 to 1 at max HP and no more than 12 to 1 throughout the rpm range.
Didnt even burn a plug...just a hint of knock(no more than I see NA)
I have to say the Ramchargers Timing Tuner is probably the biggest key here. Works like a charm.
Will post graph shortly.

Awsome #'s...congrats man!
Can you post some pics of your setup? Which NOS kit are you using?
Thanks in advance,
Conrad

awsome number. I have been wondering about the timing turner. Not to many people have it or post any replies about it.

Al, that is amazing. Good for you, your hard work and testing is PAYING off big time. Can you take some picktures of how your system is plumbed? I would like to see nozzle placement on this huge dry system you run.
Once again congrats great work!
Glenn

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
Ill have graphs and pics soon. Along with a few custom NOS installs like Vinces that came out good.
Believe it or not this kit is just the NOS 5177 kit with an added Cheater noid for the second stage run off the timing tuners window switch. The rest is in adding and tuning for 42 lb injectors. Simple as pie!

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
383 are you using just one cheater solenoid? Are you still running a 4AN line? What jets wee you running? And last question is the engine stock short block and if not what is the short block. Maybe I can help you get a few more HP out of it.

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
Snow...its basically a 5177 kit that is T'ed with one side going to a powershot noid the other side going to a cheater. Each respective stage goes to one of the 5177 nozzles on either side of the intake lid as per NOS instructions. I have .063 jets in each side. The powershot noid is the first stage and is controlled just by the arming switch and WOT switch. The cheater noid is the second stage and is controlled by the Ramchargers window switch in the Timing Tuner. Still using -4 line.
Motor is an ARE LQ4 383 iron block. Ross nitrous pistons, Lunati H beam rods, offset ground crank to 3.70 and 4.06 iron block. MTI R1 cam.
These pulls were incredibly smooth and safe. Usually after a day at the dyno or track with alot of juice I used to have to swap plugs due to a rough idle and had some over heated plug electrodes. But after 10 or so pulls yesterday..all over a 200 shot...the car still idles as good as a fresh set of plugs and they look new. TR6s BTW.

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
I really like the way you set that up pretty damn clever. A couple of thing I would do though. 2 .063 jets are equal to 1 .089 which is very close to 250HP maybe just a little more because you are giving each jet it's own solenoid. 250HP is the limit to a 4AN line. Especially since the feed line that come with the 5177 is 18' long it is probably a little bit of a restriction. You would probably pick up a little power if you went to a 6AN line. The line is probably why you saw such a small increase when you went to the bigger jets. I assume you are using the solenoid tee that comes with the 5177 kit. I've seen that fitting become a restriction on dry kits over 200HP just something to think about. Any way I think a 6AN line would be a big help at the power levels you are at.

I agree your only getting 250hp maybe less of quality N2O. Go to the 6AN and stand back.

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
So as far as the tuning aspect goes, I'm assuming the MAF had no problems reading all that airflow/nitrous?
If not, would you mind sharing some examples of what you did as far as tuning this setup? You make it all sound easy!

Re: New dyno #s Yay me :)
Al, I think I have a mental diagram of what you have going on. So the only reason you see more power for the second stage is because of the bigger noid? If I am wrong, help me out here...MAYBE some pictures would help
