Stand alone fuel system

I think I know the answer already, I just want some clarification. I have a Nitrous Outlet 98-02 F-Body Fuse Panel stand alone fuel system with the aluminum tank in my car. The wiring diagram shows a ground wire going from the tank to ground. Since the tank is bolted directly to the car I don't need to have that wire to ground the tank, Correct?

The fuse panel dedicated in an F-body doesn't have to be grounded as long as it is mounted straight to the radiator support but the battery tray dedicated would need to be.

I think that extra ground is to release static build-up that could potentially ignite fuel vapors inside. My tank is plastic and I'm still going to add a tank-chassis ground wire.
