Progressive nitrous setups.. Need help / info
I need some help / guidance with a proper starting point for my progressive controller. Ive used nitrous MANY times before but it was in an all wheel drive car, and was 150shot wet (135 per dyno) all in at the launch with no problem. But now with the progressive kit iam not sure where is should start with it. Obviously the starting % is based off how well it hooks at the start but what is a normal starting point to full on time? 1 second? 2 seconds?
My car is a grudge car so i dont want to put TOO MANY details since i switched setup so many damn times but here is a quick run down.
89 foxbody (3000lb raceweight)
4k stall
420whp on motor (lq4/ls3 heads, cam etc)
th400
holley hp efi / utilizing there built in progressive setup
275/60/15 et pro's
looking to shoot 150-200 max
nx lightning kit

It depends how well the suspension hooks. I would start it at 50% and see how well it hooks. Go up or down based on that starting point and work it just to the verge of traction. Normally within 1-2 seconds the car should be at 100%, obviously this changes between the street and the track.

With a fox body and pro's, if the track is good and the car hooks, start at 50% and all in by 1 second or less.
My combo is similar but heavier and a glide, and I go all in no controller on a .028 fogger jet (250ish) of the brake at 4800rpm.
The TH400 might be a challenge.
What kind of suspension dbl adj. all the way around?

You don't even need to use the progressive for that size shot. Leave with everything it has. On that size shot using a progressive is a bandaid for a chassis that doesn't work. I'm spraying the same amount and mine comes all on as soon as I let go of the transbrake

On 150-200, I would start it on 50%, regardless of the track condition it shouldn't be too hard to hook that much horsepower. You may even be able to get more aggressive with it if the track is sticky.
Best of luck!

so you think 50% and all in within a second will be a good starting spot?
