Embarrassing newbie question on opening the bottle
I have searched and searched to try to avoid asking this, but, is there any reason I couldn't do one of the following two things with a dry kit:Open bottle when I get in the car, leave it open while driving, close the bottle and purge when I get home.
or
Leave the bottle open all the time
I am looking at getting the kit listed here:
Nitro Dave's Sale
and need to know if I really need to add a remote bottle opener. I can't mount the bottle in the back seat.
Thanks!
I would just get the remote valve for pure ease of use. Would suck to have to get into the hatch and open it up every time you want to take a ride (assuming you want the juice at your fingertips at all times). You know without a doubt the day you forget to open it up is the day you want to use it. The opener is not that much, how much have you invested in the WS6 already where the 130 bucks is going to break you you cheap bastard?
Hey Rob,
I thought I would hear from you. And unlike you vette guys, opening my hatch is not too much of a burden before starting my car
I know it is easier with the remote valve, but as you know, the budget is tight and if I can save a couple bucks, I will. What I need to know is it safe to open the bottle and leave it open, either all the time, or at a minimum all the time I am driving?

Leaving it closed for your "normal" drives is a good way to save yourself money, by not spraying everything that moves and doesn't require spraying... You know, like Kias, Hondas, SUV's, etc. Nitrous is like crack -- once you hit it, you wanna keep hitting it...
I made the mistake of installing a remote bottle opener, I go through nitrous like crazy now

Where can you get a remote opener for $130 (excluding the NOS opener which I hear lots of negative thing about)
I don't have one yet and it is probably saving me on nitrous refill costs but I agree that the first time I need it and the bottle is closed I will be torqued.

Thanks!!!!
I suspect that leaving my bottle open constantly may have caused my NOS super Pro Shot to stick open on me.... I have a remote opener now and keep the bottle closed when not in use and havent had problems since.

The nitrous will actually begin to gel inside the line after a while. Plus having 1100 PSI up against the noid all the time is not good either. Plus is would probably leak down in a fairly short amount of time (days?) with all the junctions it goes through.

And just what chemical reaction takes place that causes this "gelling" . Please step away from the crack pipe
OK, So Gelling aside, hey, I bought it
, it is just not a good idea to do this? I guess I will drop the cash on the remote opener. Thanks for taking it easy on me, and for the education!
