Timing on a lq4 300 shot

Default Timing on a lq4 300 shot

I was wondering what amount of timing i should be running in my lq4.
I has a decently aggressive cam, stock bottom end .
it runs c16 through the plate.

I was wondering this because i bought the car and it has a 200 shot on it but I think it had more on it but dont know.

Should i get someone to dyno tune it?

I hit a stock LQ9 with a .060" dry shot on the factory 21 degree tune. On 93 octane it would pull 2 degrees and then ramp it back in. Your setup seems quite different but I wouldn't try any more than 18 degrees for a three hundred pill, even on the 16 fuel.

id be more concerned with the plugs, get a tr9 or 10 bring the timing back about 14 degrees from ideal, and go from there IMO

if you are interested i could tell you how i run with a 0.073"nos jet cheater plate carbed 5.3 shifting over 7000rpm with #6 chip in 6010 msd and -4 degree retard programmed in. if you are fuel injected with a dry plate my info wont be much help to you.

Ok ill buy some and make changes.
I don't know what my timing is at right now.

Its EFI, its a wet plate with 2 inlets for each fuel and nitrous.

I pulled the plugs today and I found out that my car is on a 150* has 52 and 38 jets in it. (Link: http://www.nitrousexpress.com/oldweb...winjetting.pdf )


I do have a hand held diablo trinity t-1000 that I can use to pull timing. I think ill take the tune off of the car and save it. Then make a new map with -4* of timing pulled and run a 250*.

Any other suggestions? I am for sure going to be getting the tr9 plugs. Should I gap them the same? I think i have my plugs gapped at 22-24.

I was at 18* leaving on 300 shot spray it all year with vp c 16 fuel went 5.64 with 1.24 60 ft with power glide..

You shouldnt be giving advice if youre suggesting a projected tip plug for any nitrous let alone a 300 hit on a sbe
