Default Discussion : Catted Exhaust & Nitrous

What do you think ?

Do catted exhaust setups (e.g KOOKS TD, TSP or any) have any downside when spraying ? Do they effect tuning "timing or so" ?

Running too much nitrous through cats has been known to ruin/melt the cats. (I would say anything over 150hp worth of nitrous.)

Thanks,
Garrett

I assume you're talking aftermarket high flow cats here. With that said I agree with Garrett here they will be fine on smaller shots of nitrous.

Yes, I meant the aftermarket high flow cats. My friend has a H/C C6 that he just bought. The ex-owner was using catted exhaust.

Nitrous can create some high temps and like said can damage the cats.

Tell him to gut it. He shouldn't have any problems with emissions & safety inspection, nor spraying, but probably will have to get the tuning "tweaked" a little though.
