LS376/525 + 150 Shot
Hi,
I'm in the middle of putting together an LS swap into my '70 Nova. I plan on going with an LS3 but not sure if I am buying a crate engine or a custom forged motor.
My goal is to run 10's in full street trip. Will the LS376/525 crate engine and a 150 shot get me there? I think so but thought I would ask. My car will be running a built 4l60e, 3200 stall, 3.70 gears through a Currie 9inch rear and I'll run slicks at the track.
Thanks,
Daniel

I had one guy on a Nova forum say that he had this crate engine in a Camaro and it went 11.3 on his first trip to the track in full trim.
The guy in this video also has a Camaro that went 11.7 as well.
I think a 150 shot, stall and slicks will get me there.

Thanks Chris. I will have it tuned on the dyno to get it dialed in. I also plan on installing some Cal Tracs in the rear with some QA1 adjustable shocks, new upper/lower control arms and shocks in the front and stiffening up the sub frame.

I think I'm leaning away from the forged motor. For my power level and goal, I don't think it is necessary. I am however, debating on the standard LS3 (430hp version) and swapping in a BTR stage 3 cam, CNC heads and thinner gaskets to bump up compression. For close to the same price of the 376/525, I'll have about 60-70 more RWHP. Add 150 shot on that and I think I'll see mid 10s.
