Got a 00 z28 a4 and I just installed a zex wet kit this past Saturday and wanted to get as much info on it as possible. I came across this deal so I couldn't let it pass me up. I am spraying my original motor for now until I find me a 6.0 with low miles to build. Which brings me to my next question. Whats the most I can spray without having a tune or pull time and not damage my motor too soon. I understand that a motor with that many miles is delicate. Which is why I want to go the highest/safest possible. IM NEW TO NITROUS SO ANY KIND OF INPUT WOULD BE GLADLY APPRECIATED. THANK GUYS.

I know I touched on this a little bit in your other thread, but let me elaborate a little....there is no difinitive safe line in how you want to go about this. With that said if it were my car, and everything was in good working order, I wouldn't do more than a 50 shot with out pulling some timing. I know others have successfully done more like this, but I personally wouldn't risk it with my car

I hear ya. Another thought is if you have a way to at least monitor a/f then I'd feel a little more comfortable bumping it up a little

Anytime you run nitrous you want to pull some timing. Even for 50, you may still need to pull a degree or 2, especially if you're already on a tune. On a engine with stock pump I wouldn't go no more than 150HP (pulling ~6* of timing), above that you risk your fuel pump not being able to keep up. Some people will say that they have run 100+HP without pulling timing, but it's not really a good idea. Though it may work at the moment- you risk serious damage down the road.

I don't have a A/F ratio gauge just yet. Won't be able to get anything else til next weekend. The kit was bought unexpected, I was not planning on buying any nitrous at all til may or June lol

Car is BONE STOCK dude. Only reason I brought the subject up is because I was wanting to bump up the shot to 75 and was wondering if I could do that without pulling time and also wanted to know if it was safe.

You did say you are running stock timing correct? If that's the case I still stand by my statement

If the car was modded or the timing was advanced I'd say forget it but in your situation you have a little more margin for error

I know I am in risk of blowing something up with the miles it has just curious to know what's the most I can go without wondering if I floor the pedal will it be the last time before the motor goes BOOOOM!! I have used it a little Saturday it didn't give me a kick but I knew it worked because I was ahead of my cousins SRT8 magnum and he always walks me on the HWY

Dammit I wish I had a buddy that had the tools to pull some time and help me a little lol. Didn't really want to put too much into this motor because it will be coming out in may if it holds til then.

It's been on since Saturday hahaha was just wanting to bump it up a little and was trying to know if it was safe enough for the 75 shot without having to pull time

You can try a 75 but I wouldn't if it were mine. If you do decide to at least check a plug or two

On a factory tune most F-body cars 98-99 run timing around 28* and the 00-02 cars ran 24-26* of timing. We have had more than several customers spray 50-100hp on stock tunes with no problems, but if the tune has been adjusted in any way then you might want to hold off until you can verify what the timing is set at.

Here is a stock 01 timing table:

WOT is roughly above .60 g/cyl and 4000 rpms

In your case with that amount of miles I'd do a leak down test and if it all checks out ok then I wouldn't hesitate to spray it. Again we have had customers spray with high mileage engines and as long as the tune, plugs, fueling etc... are all correct then you will be able to have fun all day. On the factory tune you might be a little more on the edge of the line where as if you had it tuned for nitrous you'd on the safer side of the line. Biggest thing would be to start low on the hp level and pull some plugs to see where you're at.

If it is a wet system you will need to install the nozzle after the MAF and at least 3-5in away for the TB blade. Do not try and spray the wet system before the MAF as it can cause damage to it as well as other problems.
