Default 150 shot (wet)and a backfire

What are the chances of a backfire using up to 150 shot? (99 ls1/cam 236/236/112ls/ls6 heads/headers)
I can tune the shot, but don't want to replace the ls6 intake if it pops..
Thanks for looking..

If setup right the chance is extremely small. I've been doing it for a while without a problem

By setup he means run proper plugs, pull timing and don't spray until your at about 3,000 rpm. Doing those 3 things will drop the risk to about zero.

Backfire ? It is a result of mistake.

- Buy quality solenoids . (Nitrous Outlet/NX)
- Make sure your bottle pressure is 950~1000 and your fuel system is enough for your power
- Use the right plugs
- Tune for the shot

Things if you want more precautions

- Progressive Controller that have activation based on your TPS (100%) and RPM (3000+ RPM)
- Fuel Pressure Safety Switch

I agree with what has previously been said- as long as you use the right spark plug (NGKBR7EF), pull the proper timing, have a good fuel supply and good bottle pressure (900-1000psi) you shouldn't have any issues.

or hopefully one of your vacuum caps act as a pressure relief when things pop. At least mine does lol.

I have had 2 backfires that have damaged manifolds. First was a cheap zex solenoid that stuck open. Second was a cheap timing controller that killed ignition during a pull. Moral of the story...buy good parts!!!

My first kit was Zex. Got it in 2006, ran it for 6 years then gave it to my friend who installed it on his '99 gt. Still works fine to this day.
What "cheap" timing puller did you use?

I used the "timing tuner"
To correct my previous statement, the brass filter zex uses disintegrated and prevented solenoid from closing. Cleaned out solenoid after and currently use it as a purge.
Both were purchased used...

For a timing retard, use the Lingenfelter LNC-2000. It's probably one of the most reliable and easy to use timing retards out there, especially for the LS engines. If you need any parts for your system, give me a call- I'd be glad to help you out!
