Default Nitrous Progression ramp rate

I am getting my progressive setup for nitrous as I keep blowing the tires off trying to hit it all at once. My questions is, what is a good starting point for the ramp rate. I have it now at 30% initial with a 1.5 sec ramp. I know that is an eternity. What would be a better starting point for the ramp rate?

Thanks

When I have the 235 radials on my car, I start with no delay at 50% and ramp to 100% by .7 sec.

Ok thanks. I'll try a little quicker ramp. I just need to give it enough time to get the tires good and planted.

Generally once you find what works: Let's use the above. 50% start with a .7 build. On a better or worse track you will only change build time. You also need to test YOUR system and see what it will tolerate as far as how low of a percent at will progress from as well as the frequency it likes based on the size of the solenoids. On a big solenoid with heavy slow moving plungers you may have the frequency set incorrectly and will won't fully open or close the solenoid until the ramp time is complete. Basically it won't be progestin.

if you blow the tire off at the initial hit tighten the extension on the shock and drop the lower control arm down 1 hole on the rear end.. I never used a progressive on my car and I sprayed an 83 jet multiple times...

So a few things to remember...

Don't fall into that thinking that on say a 200 hit that 10% =20 hp, 20%= 40hp etc etc

If you can datalog engine and driveshaft rpm it would be invaluable

I am already on the lowest of a 7 way adjustable hole on my LCA's and I am only running single adjustable QA1's on the back while Im waiting on my MWC 9". Im going to play with the shock settings and my travel limiters this weekend to see if I can make it hook. I don't know if this makes any difference, but the car is 3320 with me in it and made 712RWHP on that 150, and Im leaving at 4250 off the T-brake and 2 step.

That, and I bolted the rear tires down since then. I got a 3" rotation tire/wheel on one nitrous hit that night.

You also have a 9.25 SLR....even on a slick that a hell of a ratio to take 700+ without a progressive

One issue to watch out for when shortening the ramp is having the converter do odd things... I had issues when shortening the ramp too much that the converter would flash and start to couple, then as the added power came in faster it would reflash then couple harder and pull the engine rpms down.

When it ran that 9.86 it only put down 630 at the wheels. I didn't have my nitrous tune done yet and the bottle pressure was low. Im hoping that I don't have a big issue with the converter.
