Default HELP: NOS WOT/window switch

I'm running a Nitrous Outlet plate kit. 125 wet shot, with the NOS WOT/window switch. I am SUPER pleased with it and how easy it is to install and use.

I am new to nitrous, this is my first kit. One thing I am having a problem with is the huge delay I have for the kit to come on. Is this normal for nitrous kits?

You really notice it from a roll. I'll bring the rpms up passed the minimum rpm I have setup (3500) and when I put the pedal to the floor there is about a full half second delay before the kit activates.

Now, I know this is no big deal from a dig or at the track. But when it comes to roll racing, it's cost me one race. In that time, allowed the car to jump out a good car, and having 4.10s ran out of gear before I could make it all back up. Anybody else having this issue? Do you all just go WOT a bit early, like in an auto car?

I had that issue, and in my case it was the traction control module causing the delay, so I disabled it

It should be instant when you are WOT and meet the parameters with the window switch. Press and hold button #1 and see if the display on the window switch rpm is the same as the rpm on your dash.

That was my first thought, the rpms are lower on the NOS box. But I figured that since it was reading from the PCM the box displays actual rpm and the dash is off some. So when I did my test hits I was WELL above the window (about 1000 rpm above).

I am using WOT switch built into the NOS box I got from you which reads TPS voltage. Set the voltage at 4.5 which I verified by activating the NOS box and went to WOT in which it slowly raised and reached 4.5 volts when I got to WOT.

If you hold your rpms on the dash at like 2500 rpms, what is your window switch reading?

I can give you exactly what it reads later today, but from memory 150-250 rpms lower than what the dash shows.

What mode should I be using?? I've heard of some guys using the 4 cyl mode for some reason?

The instructions just said for "ignition wire". For my vehicle PCM there are two. Ignition control and ignition module. I chose the wrong one the first time.. as the rpms did not show. So I tapped into ignition control and that enabled the rpms to display on the NOS box.

Be advised, the system activates and deactivates per the on and off rpm windows..

However. There is ALWAYS a good half second delay between WOT and the kits activating. No matter the gear and how far above the minimum rpm set.

No. I was afraid that doing that. Will activate the kits before WOT (fuel system acting under WOT conditions) but I will try your advice.

It may be taking just a split second to read exact WOT voltage which could be causing the delay you are experiencing. -Matt

Just read the "NOTE:" portion of section 2.5. It says to input .2 volts lower for my 4.5 volt reading. I will adjust and try again. Thanks for your help guys.

Still cannot run down where this delay is coming from. It's about the same length of time it would take for a stock auto to downshift after you go WOT.

Any M6 guys running the NOS window switch have this issue?
