Default Newbie to nitrous..want a kit...help please

hey guys my car is a 99 z28 , strange 9 in, built t56, and lq9 408 with a forged

bottom end, compression is 11.5. wanna run a 100 shot for now, what would i

need for a kit to run it safely? Ive heard about nitrous express kits with a s.a.f.e. fuel system.

You're going to need enough fuel pump and injector along with the proper plugs and a way to pull timing. Other good things to have are a window switch, fuel and nitrous pressure gauge, and a bottle heater

Yes it is but to run just a 100 shot you don't need one. I mean you can, but it's not necessary, and it will cost more

a wet plate kit will not require more injector, just a bigger pump. I would go with a N2o outlet wet plate kit. They are on sale right now. I am thinking about picking one up.

I run a LNC-2000 to pull timing. Whichever route you choose you should definitely pull a few degrees

Yep no problem man, that's what we are here for! Just so you know though, there are other options to pull timing, but the LNC unit is the most direct and effective IMO

OP, it sounds like you have a nice base to build on! HCI2000SS was correct that the best way to pull the timing on a car like yours would be a Lingenfelter LNC-2000, but there are some options with the fueling. If you go with a dedicated fuel system, you'd also have the ability to run a higher octane fuel with your nitrous. That would give you a little extra protection against detonation, and even help you squeeze a little more power out of your setup. Plus, very rarely does someone ever stick with a 100HP shot- once you get that 100HP in your blood, you're ready for 150, then 200, and so on. A dedicated fuel system will be able to provide fuel for your nitrous system for just about any size shot you'd want to do. But also, if you plan on doing more to the motor you'd benefit from a bigger pump and injectors. And, since you're starting relatively small on the nitrous you wouldn't have an issue running it off your pump in the tank. But once you start doing more to the motor or start upping the nitrous it'll drastically affect how much fuel supply you have left over. If you want to talk more about your options with nitrous give me a call at 254-848-4300 Ext. 104 and we can go over your build and see what would work best!
