Help me out 5.3 build
#2
I'm assuming the truck is 2wd? If so I'd run 3:73, get a converter s pecifically made for nitrous , I had great luck with a 4l60 and a Hughes stall with lockup . It was street friendly it flashed around 3600 in my car, and I could foot brake it to 2800 to launch. As for a camshaft, go with a custom grind . Your 5.3 is tough as nails. "I have a 5.3 turbo Camaro in my shops parking lot that's a straight junkyard motor with ls6 intake, a cam, arp head bolts, and stock heads. The car is making well in excess of 600 at the tires. Tomorrow night were running meth and 19 lbs of boost from a on3 76mm turbo. Mind you this is a 250.00 dollar motor and refuses to give up with the almighty lsx sin" retorqued stock rod bolts 😳" To avoid buying a fuel system to support it , id suggest a "dedicated nitrous outlet stand alone fuel system " it hold 1 gallon of your choice of fuel and has its own fuel pump. For 700 this is some reassurance as there are multiple parts involved in a vehicles fuel system , and when one fails it can be the end of your engine

this is right up your alley , and if you'd like I can send the link to the stand alone fuel system. Id also like to add that a good running "safe" nitrous setup , is gonna cost you as much as a cheap on3 turbo setup. I'm over 1500.00 deep in mine and intend on another 1500.00 going towards it for the lingenfelter nitrous controller , as well as the dedicated fuel system .
