E85 is showing to not want the tune up that gas does, meaning 2* for every 50hp of n20 jet may not hold true. That could be the the wrong tune up and hurt the motor on larger hits. And heck, +200rwhp with a single 57n jet....

Flame speed is going to dictate amount of advance required, and combo coupled with lambda is going to dictate flame speed. This is why I am suggesting starting small and step up incrementally.
To an extent, I agree. Most of what I'm saying here comes from direct experience working with this platform. I don't care about air/fuel, lambda any of that when it comes down to it. They're just references. I read plugs. An LS motor spraying 250 HP is not going to be happy at 28 degrees I don't care what fuel it's on. The person I wrote above is clearly overtimed. He added timing and nipped the plug. It doesn't get any more cut and dry than that. He left the amount of timing he had in it for 200hp and sprayed 250. Didnt pick up. Added timing. Nipped the strap.

Hi Brandon,

I quoted and made the key issues in bold.

I would agree with you that 23* is over timed for a 250 hit with a Lambda of 0.85. Put it at 0.77 Lambda (11.3 AFR on the gas scale) and that 23* might not be over timed.

I would argue that AFR has a bigger impact in actual cyl temps, the plug is just along for the ride. A hotter plug is going to melt down sooner than a cooler plug. I will also argue that a plug can be cooled some with additional fuel.

Lots of interesting information here. OP - have you made any more progress tuning or made a pass? I'm looking at putting together a higher compression LS7 on E85 and nitrous. The car has been mid-to-high 9s on a 175. I'm hoping 2 full points of compression, a larger cam, and E85 is going to be a game changer.

All the fast nitrous guys I have spoke to or read posts on the topic say leaner and less timing is better then over timed and rich.

Yeah, honestly the nitrous tune up should damn near mirror the motor tune up. Keep the air/fuel close and the timing out of it. Hell of a lot less likely to **** the bottom end out of it unlike if its richened up and a bunch of timing in it.
