Default switch to lockup converter

Our nitrous is blowing through the converter and/or causing the transmission to slip. When I take the transmission out to have it done I need to put a tighter nitrous converter in. I called Circle D and they sell a very nice multi-disc converter that they think will work good both NA and on spray. He suggested having a toggle switch in the car that locks the converter up in each gear for when I run it on nitrous. That sounds like the best of both worlds, and would keep from having to load a NA and nitrous tune, but how in the world do you wire that? I've never heard of such a thing. Anyone have first hand experience with this?

Me neither. I was thinking where in the world on the torque converter would you hook the wires to ... (only kidding of course).

What trans? For 4l60/80 there is a torque converter lockup solenoid. Give it a ground source via the switch and waalah, lockup whenever you want it

It could be all done in the tune where you can run NA and have completely different shift points and converter lockup on nitrous if you wanted.

just as stated by MaroonMonsterLS1 I have the triple disc 4000 Circle D, been doing it that way for years. I have a small toggle switch setup like that.

Best idea is to do it in the tune.

Otherwise, you could just have an rpm activated window switch. But instead of activating nitrous solenoids like usual, it would power your converter lockup switch. Just arm the window switch when you arm your nitrous and it will be the cheap and easy way out.

I will tell you this, when I had the yank converter going to lockup was hard on the converter and the switch just helped soften it. When we went to the Circle D triple disc 4000 I tried it both ways and really didn't notice anything different that was time wise. Circle D has a much more efficient converter then the Yank ever was in my car. Totally drive ability. We where actually trying to keep it unlocked on the yank to help. That's why Circle D uses a triple disc design for their lockup feature.
