Yea definately pull some timing to be safe!

Plugs look like they have seen alot of run time. Look kinda old! No way to read the plug with tht set. Install a fresh set and pull 1 or 2 and check

Do you do your own tuning?
I went 10.5 stock weight on a 150 shot, BTR III, and milled 241's (SOM in sig) on 93 oct.
T/A runs 9.90 on a 150 @ 19* timing (50:50 mix 93/110).
Every car is different. We just start conservative on timing and bump it up until MPH shows no improvement.
Not judging, just curious on how your motor is still alive at 28*

it reach 28 deg near redline at wot... in midrange (VE) its 23 deg at wot -- what timing do you have near redline ? .. i did some log with the resistor mod via iat... and its pulls 2-3° in mid ..but sill goes up to 28° near redline

I honestly don't know. I'll have to ask my tuner. I don't have the resistor mod. I thought that 19* was "total timing"....

Curious as well if yours is 19 at like peak torque and/or 19 at the shift.....
And how many put timing back in towards red line

Peak torque is where the most cylinder pressure occurs so, 15* there.
19* peak to the stripe. Crossing at 6700. This is where this particular engine is happy.

gotcha. Did you arrive at those numbers from not gettin anymore mph or look in at the timing marks??
Stock compression?

Chassis dyno first checking plugs, then MPH at the track bumping 1* at a time. If MPH doesn't improve put it back to where it was.
SBE iron 6.0 w/LQ4 pistons, L92 heads milled .025 (~ 10.1:1).
Currently building a 14:1 398" and gonna run it on C16...so everything will change.

Funny how carb motors and FI motors have different timing requirements, when FI I ran 28 total and pulled anywhere from 10 to 14* of timing. So in the 18 to 14 range. Now I'm carbed I run 38* total and pull about the same so 28 to 24 range but on E85.
