Timing. C16 400shot

Default Timing. C16 400shot

making this as short as possible. 370 cubes. Fogger. 4150 intake. 400 ish shot 1550pph 40 jet. C16 fuel. My timing seems low. Running it at 7* plugs seem happy but traps the same as a 36, 330ish shot. Like I said. Plugs seem good as far as strap goes.

What was timing on the 330, what plugs used for both and cam specs. Might be at the point of diminishing returns.

Are we looking at the plugs that were run with the 40 jets? What's the heat range? Are those R5671A-10's?

Are you adjusting your fuel with the fuel jets or a fuel pressure regulator?

We obviously can't see the fuel ring on the porcelain without cutting them open but your timing mark looks good. On the safe side, just before the bend, but that's where I like mine also.

plugs look like the right heat range sorta see the heat on the first thread only, I would add 2 degrees. For reference I've landed at 13 degrees with that big of a shot on a very similar engine and compression ratio.

I cut them open and they were good. Ended up at 13.7ish on the wideband

I would try 1 deg, wouldnt recommend jumping 2 deg's at a time. Cant see the fuel on the plugs but 13.7 was probably lean, cant go off just that though.

I added .5 of a degree and picked up 1 mph in the eighth. Ill just keep adding more until I see almost no gain in mph? im at 10* now

Got to be careful with that. If you've got a cylinder out of wack, things can get hairy fast. That's why I wanted to see the other bank. When you did the initial plug reading, did they look uniform?

all the cylinders tested well as far as compression and leakdown. They all looked uniform and as always 3-4-5-6 were rich and all the outer 4 were lean 1-2-7-8. Timing on 6 and 2 looked the most "aggressive"
